John Grenier - Owner

john@rainbowbike.com

"I've been fascinated by bikes since I saved up money mowing lawns to buy a Yellow Schwinn Continental 'racing bike' when I was 13. By 15 the bike was a thing of the past. Nearly 20 years later I hauled it out to exercise. I was hooked from then on. I bought the shop 18 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did! Nothing gets me more excited than talking to new customers about getting a bike. Whether it's for a little kids bike, a first time bike riding adult, or a serious enthusiast who wants to take it to the next level, I just love to talk about bikes."

Ben Grenier - Manager

ben@rainbowbike.com

Ben tried to not follow in his father's footsteps. He went to college in Boston, but while there worked at a bike shop in the summer, then moved to New York and again worked at a bike shop. Ben eventually moved back to Lewiston and suddenly saw the light! He started racing road, mountain, and cyclocross bikes along with commuting. He became a real student of the business.

Ben is the guy you want to talk to when starting to look for a bike. He has ridden them all and has a wealth of information he loves to share.

Steve - Sales and Mechanic

steve@rainbowbike.com

Steve got into cycling while going to school in Rochester, NY, where he found a love for commuting. Before long, he had three bikes in his studio apartment--and a job at the local shop. Since then, working with bikes full-time has been the dream.

Steve thinks of himself as a permanent beginner: there’s always more to learn, and bikes are endlessly interesting. You’ll find him doing tune-ups, repairs while you wait, bike assembly, and sales. Talk to him if you’re new to cycling, or if you want to compare entry- or mid-level hybrids, mountain bikes, road and gravel bikes. He’s also interested in commuting, touring, and the wild experience of riding a fixie in Maine. His current favorite bike is his All-City Big Block.

Tyler - Sales and Mechanic

Tyler is a Lewiston native and a recent convert to the world of cycling. Having not ridden bikes much in his adult years, he decided to make a change to his fitness by coming to Rainbow to buy a road bike... and then never left. Working closely with everyone at the shop to learn all things bikes, he has fallen in love with the cycling community. A local professional photographer, Tyler enjoys merging those two passions by capturing photos for the shop.

You can catch Tyler at the front station of the service center, here to greet you with a smile and get you answers to all your biking questions. He builds almost all of our new bikes, so he’s happy to talk to you about what makes a Rainbow Bike the best bike. His current favorite bike is his All-City Zig Zag.

Taylor - Sales and Mechanic

Taylor came to us from the Central Maine area. He got into mountain biking in high school and at one time was the Junior Maine State Champion. He went to college in Colorado. After graduating, Taylor ended up in Portland, Oregon working in a bike shop. He eventually worked his way back to Maine.

Taylor can be found in the back corner of the service center working hard on getting bikes tuned up and working great. His current favorite bike is his Salsa Fargo.
